Running on from my thread for turbo recommendations, I still need to get the old cat out.

I'm on my back with not too much clearance to work with and it seems like I going to have to free the whole exhaust to get clearance to pull enough through to separate the cat from the centre section.

Or should I just cut the pipe between the cat itself and the joint then get a couple of chain wrenches to work the joint apart.

Looking for confirmation, inspiration and any useful advice to make the job easier.

Even if that advice is sort the turbo out and take the car to an exhaust specialist and pay them to do it.

Exhaust's can be a complete bitch due to corrosion etc. I would soak every nut with WD40 and let it soak in for a while. Can't offer much more advice than that as i haven't had to do that job yet.

Can you drill them out? The ones that broke off that is.
