This is my first post since December 2014 when we had an Ibiza Cupra, which was sold in August 2015 for a Golf Convertible after the second replacement engine started to fail in the same way as the first (you know: oil leak, spark plugs, bits in bores, scratches, misfires, new engine - except the new one had the same design fault as the old even though new cars had the revised design).

But now I’m about to be back in the ‘new‘ Cupra family as I have just ordered (well, bought really as the car is already at the dealers) a VZ2 Hybrid 245 in Asphalt Blue with black leather for delivery in the first week in March (yes, that’s March 2022!).

Oh, and if anyone wants an Asphalt Blue VZ2 Hybrid 245 with a black leather or isn’t fussy about colour but wants a new car, they have another one unregistered, plus a red one in the showroom. Where? Marshalls Seat / Cupra, Leicester. Cue the stampede…

I would save your money
And wait to buy an audi
I have an 8 year old RS4 never missed a beat
And never been in the garage apart from a servicing
And a 2 week old formentir hybrid which I want to give back already

The thing is that if you bought a 1.4 hybrid Audi with the same hardware as the Formentor you’d have the identical same hardware that you’re upset about now, and quite possibly the same fault. There are always some cars (or owners) that have issues and pop up on forums going on about how they’re going to do this and that, but it doesn’t really help except perhaps make you feel better, or raise your blood pressure.

There are processes to follow, legal stuff like they have to have a chance to fix the issue than if that fails you can reject the car. I’d advise involving the manufacturer as well as the dealer as they‘re more likely to jump when the manufacturer asks them to, and don’t piss the dealer off as you want them on your side. There’s are sticky’s on Pistonheads advising the legal T&Cs which are probably more accurate than my memory, I’m sure as a RS4 owner you’re familiar with that forum.

Despite numerous warnings emails and phone calls the problem hassnt been looked at yet apparently East Grinstead dealer doesn’t have a EV technician and apparently unable to provide a temporary replacement as they are too busy

this week end I’ve told them if the car isn’t sorted they will not make a sale

their attitude att
