Reversing sounds like a train horn

Everytime I reverse, let's say in a parking spot, once I brake either slightly to slow down or a lot it sounds like a bloody train horn, that's the only way I cam describe it haha, it's a loud noise anyway, any ideas, pads seem like they have enough wear on them

Not that uncommon to be honest, mine makes all sorts of noises when braking backwards. Previous cars have also done it. It's purely because the pads are working in a different direction, and it's not quite as smooth a brake as it is going forwards. If you did a few hundred miles in reverse, you'd find the noise goes away and braking going forwards becomes noisy! :)

It might be worth smearing a little copper grease on one of the edges of the pads (NOT the face), that might ease it a little. But it's something I just put up with.

This may not be helpful but I attached some VW counterweights to the handbrake mechanism that help the pads to clear the disc when the handbrake is released and you are reversing. Not very tricky to fit and not very expensive if I recall correctly - have a search of the forum for 'handbrake weights' or similar things.
