Revo free trial - Fly By Wire ???

Hello

Sorry i have tried searching but cant really find an answer

Am trying to get my mates Ibiza Cupra (mk3) booked in for a free revo trial..
The bloke i spoke to said its not a problem unless the car is 'fly by wire' but he didnt know if it was or not

He has told me that if the car does have a throttle cable then they wont be able to load the free trial onto the car

So.... Are some mk3 ibiza cupras different then or are they all fly by wire (or not ??) ???

How can i tell ???

Would be a bit annoying to drive there only to find they cant load the free trial anyway :s

Can anyone help me out please ?

i think they all have fly by wire...look on the inlet manifold where the inlet pipe joins the throttle body there should be no cable

wicked thanks matey will get her to have a look tonight....

So this means its ok for the free trial then... Was thinking it was a little wierd as I know loads of people with mk3 cupras that have had the free trial!!

the ibiza is drive by wire (dbw) free trial should be no problem, like u said loads of people have had it

Another way to tell is when you turn the ignition on all the lights on the dash light up, if there's one with EPC (electronic pedal control) on it then you've got drive by wire.

well why dont u point out the reason why u think they aint...no mk3 ibiza has a cable driven throttle AQX or AYP!!!

u sure u aint mixing up with VVT? where no mk3 ibiza is VVT

only potential problem would be if the car has had trial previously as its a one time load. wont load for a 2nd time.

no std ibiza cupra mk3 was non dbw - all dbw versions

dbw in that you typically get a little more out of them from a basic remap than the non dbw
