REVO Stage 1 - Worth it?

So, as the post suggests what's the opinion of those that have it?

I'm talking about Cupra R's specifically. I fancy the idea of the stage 1 due to not needing to upgrade any hardware. But does it make the car much quicker, if so in what area does it improve the most, bottom end, mid range or top end. How much does it affect the mpg, has anyone got any experience of the linear throttle and finally, those who have had this done, would you have it done again knowing what you know now?

From what I have read on the REVO site you can have a test map fitted that expires after 5 hours of driving, but I just wanted to get some opinions from those in the know who have nothing to gain from promoting or criticising this mod.

Thanks folks!

Copied from another thread:

I have APR software, stage 1 at the minute but when I get the BCS downpipe I'll be going to upgrade to stage 2 which is free with APR. I can't fault the software had no problems and the power over standard was amazing.

That's comparing a standard cupra R to a stage 1 cupra R

Hope that helps

I can't comment on the Revo software having never had it, but if it's anything close to the APR software I have on then it'll make the car a very different beast.

I don't think you will be disappointed if you went for the Revo stage 1 bud regardless of what anybody says (you get a lot of haters and people very happy to down talk certain tuners for whatever reason) I've never heard anybody that's got a remap from one of the big companies and then complained to say that it's not very good.

Having had my R on APR and my current S3 (same engine) with Revo I don't think there's much in it.
Both are good at what they do although I like the adjustability of Revo.
Go with the dealer that offers the best price and service who's local to you and I'm sure you'll be happy.

stage1 on these k04s are intense most people see up and round 300bhp more or less the figure. VAG k04s spool up quite quickly so you dont much notice where the post is it most but great changes between 2500 to 6000rpm. Revo and APR arent much different. THeres loads of controversy between the two companies as one accuses the other of stealing its base map HOWEVER 2 of my mates bouth own tfsi S3s. One being mapped with APR at stage 2 the other stage 2 with revo. They both had a drag 2 outta 3. 2 to revo 1 to apr but their races were photo finishes each time. To conclude i'd say theirs good gains to be had. Any person thats stage 2 now will tell you to take the extra step. The music these cars make andd the wooosh . oh mah gerd

Hope that helps lol

I won't be going stage 2 any time soon, already making 330+ on stage 1 :)
