As the dealer can't give any definitive answer I'm turning to the experts :).
Recently got our Cupra Ateca, for now filling it up with RON95 petrol. Is there any (tangible) benefit of using 98? Any brands to prefer / avoid?

For info: the Cupra Ateca is our daily driver, quite some traffic jam and 100km (60 miles) per day, so fuel price matters a bit. Pricewise 98 comes to 1,65 € / liter and 95 at 1,4 € here in Belgium. We mostly use a big Q8 fuel station on the road to work.

Dealer told us both 95 and 98 are OK, but "all sports cars run 98" without any reason as to why it is apparently better. That said, all test cars from the Volkswagen group run 95...

What does it say on the fuel cap? I believe all stock cars run fine on 95 (I guess they'd have to). The 98 from eg Shell apparently has more detergent in it for cleaning the engine. But from what I gather, if the engine is already clean they do nothing over the regular fuel save.

Oh and I usually avoid Supermarket brands. I put Shell fuelsave in my runaround and Shell v-power in my Cupra (which it's tuned for).
