Came to clean my panel filter today and two of the bolts holding the forge strut brace to the car have been rounded off. I can get two of the bolts out, but cant get the other out.

I have given up cleaning the filter, but am now left with only being able to tighten up one bolt.

Not sure why this has happened, I did tell the dealer to stay clear of the air filter at the last service.

Is this something which needs to be addressed asap? or is it ok to drive on for a little bit? Im hoping to get along to BBT for a MOT and check up next weekend.

:(

if you only have one bolt in your top mount i would sugesst it is not driven as if you go over a large enough bumps to disloge it would cause you more damage than that.

have you only rounded one bolt or only can get one out?

plus if you have not been able to undo the top bolts they would not have been lossened and safe to drive tho would get them changed asap.

Went to big boys toys yesterday, and they sorted it out for me by replacing the top mounts.

Still not sure what caused it, possibly the bolts I used were too short, and stripped there thread when tightened up. Ah well, we live and learn, its all nice and tight now.

Cheers :)
