Sorry alot of these is new to me, what is meant by generic? And when you say custom can you still get that done at revo or wat? Thanks

Oh right, so take it revo do generic and custom right? Is one more expensive than the other?

...personally I think there are overpriced and for brand snobs

Thanks very much. Personally brand matters little to me, my list of mods is hardly a who's who in the VAG modding scene. If I was a brand snob then I wouldn't be driving a Seat.

I research all the mods I buy and go for the most cost effective one, hence I have a Whiteline rear ARB as it was basically the same thing as the likes of Neuspeed and £100 cheaper. I chose Revo as they had a good deal on at Christmas and have a good upgrade path and from what I read, the best reputation for after-sales support. You pays your money and you takes your chances, that's what I did and so far (apart from this MPG issue which now cannot be attributed to the map) it's done me good.

wasn't refering to you directly bud, just alot of people have things because they want a ''name'' on their car i remember a few years ago jabba were the tuners of choise then they fell out of favour, so people moved to the next big thing custom code i think it was, now i believe it's apr that's the flavour of the month. I don't even know who's map is on mine all i know is it pulls well and gives good mpg

Fair enough, not everyone is like that tho, certainly not me. Wouldn't it be ironic though if your map did turn out to be Revo :)

Went on a steady 70mph cruise for about 25 miles this evening, 31mpg and still climbing until I turned off the dual carriage way and blasted across the back roads for the last section. Think I'm driving to Edinburgh at the weekend now, will report back on mpg each way. Done 100.4 miles since I filled up and the gauge was on the 3/4 mark when I parked up this evening so looks like it probably was the PCV leak.

Might be worth seeing if you can find someone with a Revo SPS switch and a laptop, that'll tell you for sure if it's Revo software or not :)

The car made 285bhp on this map, on stock intercoolers and exhaust. Is that the best you can come up with?

285HP? :cartman:

I'm on the old REVO map and I must say I was very close to getting the newer linear put on. From Warrington to Huddersfield on the M62 in rush hour I am getting anywhere between 32-36MPG.

Driving at 50MPH seems to be optimum for my engine, around 38MPG.

Other things to check - Sticky brake pad? De-funked wheel bearing? Boot full of loot? Engine oil badly oxidised creating muchos drag? Go faster stripe peeled off?

I think this is obvious, you need to wash your fluffy dice.

OK ok, 284.6bhp. Happy now?

If you believe that piece of paper then that's all that matters.

Gotta love these RR operators.

I'd bet you wouldn't be saying that if it was your car. But, y'know, you seem determined to be a nob about it so far be it from me to stop you.

EDIT - not that I need to justify anything to anyone but in case you're prepared to listen all the standard cars on those rollers that day made about standard power, and one or two were on another set of rollers a week later and made near on identical figures.

If it was my car I would be too embarrassed to quote that. So no, I wouldn't say that.

My car is pants - its a 250HP car, sure I can take it to a RR and make out like its near 300HP if I really want to......but I'd still wake up the next day and drive my 250HP car to work. :p

Edit** Don't people get all paranoid when you question a graph with wiggly lines on it. Did your RR operator run the engine in all gears? No, so that graph is null/void and worth f-all ;-)

I wouldn't have said your car was pants, I used to enjoy reading your thread but I shan't trouble myself in future. What would you think I've got to be embarrassed about anyway?

No, seriously - a leon is a leon at end of day. Cheap and cheerful little car. Shame the chavs have ruined the Leon scene.

Onwards and upwards is what I say. :3rd:

Run along then, us "chavs" could be doing without the likes of you here.
