Bought a Mk 3 Leon 1.4TSI ACT 150 FR in October 2014, been away abroad since. I return and check the car over look under the bonnet to see rust on the engine!

It hasn't been doing nothing, my parents have used the car as they're town runabout and it has about 1000 miles on the clock.

I have no idea what part of the engine this is, I'm not mechanically minded. But my thinking is a 4 month old car should not be showing rust just yet!

I'm going to be contacting the dealer in the morning.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Photos require at least 15 posts to be made and then must be hosted on a site such as Flickr or Photobucket and linked to from there.

It's all explained in the rules and FAQ's of the site.

Obviously can't see any pictures but one of two things from what I have read.

1) Muck and leaves have filled up the drain channel by the wipers which has allowed rain water to leak into the engine back which would dry on the engine block and possibly form a thin layer of rust where the water has been sitting, or

2) Troll ol lol ol lol lol lol lol lol

Can you describe where this rust is? I have the same engine delivered in early December 2014 with just over 3000 miles on the clock. I'll check mine.
