Rust on 05 FR ??

Hi,

Got my car about 6 weeks ago and had a few stone chips.

But now i have noticed rust in the chips. Now i thought these cars where galvinised as there is a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty or something.

But, now its here whats the best way to treat it , i got one on the drivers door and 2 on the roof where is meets the windscreen.

I use Car-Lack68 Systematic Care to remove rust stains then apply....
clear nail varnish to stone chipped area, works a treat.

Hit seat for a warranty.

i did. I got mines repaired, But it wasnt stone chips

Stone chips won't be covered by the warranty. If they aren't touched up with paint, they'll rust.

Rusting from inside out will be covered (ie started under the paint), outside in won't be.

stone chips will chip the paint and also the zinc plating (galvanisation)

personally on a new car i would get a pro to do it, people like chips away and dent master will do a good price, also if you have any mates who need stuff done, they will usually offer a group dsicount if a few of you have it done on the same day say at a mates house. not worth bodging and letting it fester. in the mean time whack some vasoline over it to stop it getting exposed to the elements
