Sat Nav change

Car went in for it's first 12 month service on Wednesday, and for them to look at the media system as the DAB intermittently cut out when using the indicators they tested signal and checked for fault codes but couldn't find any thing, fair enough it was intermittent and to be fair hadn't done it for a couple of weeks.

I also was informed there were two outstanding recalls

1, 37I8 Switch on steering column modification, didn't really want it doing as mine didn't rattle

2, 94H5 Software update for gear lever DQ250, stange as Motorvougue said last time they had it there was no software update and there was nothing wrong with it despite DSG warning coming on.

Since I got it back the sat now now shows lane guidance as in the whole screen changes to show lanes etc even in the MFD, just like my Tom Tom, now can't say that I'd ever noticed it before so, I checked the software version etc and it's the same as it was when I got the car, is it me just not paying attention to Sat Nav before or have they updated or changed something whilst doing the other work

Sounds like an update to me.

My lane guidance is just square boxes at the top of the screen - not a full screen display.

I bought mine new in Feb last year and it's done that since I got it. I think perhaps you just weren't paying attention. Or maybe you're paying a bit more attention now, trying to find what's changed. ;-)

Mines a 2014 too deano, you can select full screen yourself for the lane guidance. The MFD should be full screen anyway no?

It's always been like that I think! Unless the update was done back in April when they last had mine and Im the one who didn't notice... That's when I had the recalls mentioned above done on mine! Lol

Mines 2014 and it's defiantly not done the full screen thing before, I asked SWMBO as she uses it more than me and she said it hadn't done it, so maybe they altered something in the settings.

Been and tried it again and the voice has changed she has trouble pronouncing anything with an "R" in it, like turn, Northampton, seems to almost stutter on the R. Maps etc are still the same version but something has changed may be in the settings have to have another look tomorrow.

Mine has always done that, built in June 2014, and had it's first service on Wed and I had no software updates needed the dealer said, so my car is still the same.

used mine yesterday - the lane change is only small boxes with a cross or an arrow in

it is not full screen on the main display or in the drivers display.

I wonder what you need to change to activate/de-activate the function.

Must be a setting that I overlooked when we first had it, as some are saying theirs does it and some are saying it's just small boxes. It was a full screen picture just the same as my Tom Tom lane guidance, if I get chance I'll try it again and try to get a picture

Had a look through the menu's - I can switch lane guidance on or off but no choice for full or part screen.

I have slightly later hardware but older maps. My SD Card is v5 so it could be a Nav specific thing. I did check the settings and all you can do is either have Lane Guidance on or off.

This is what it was when I got it as far as I could see when I first noticed the change everything was the same, not got the car at the minute the other half's got it at work so can't go and check anything else.

Mine is 2014 also (latest map update), no full Lane Guidance

I'd be interested in a software update, hoping that the lag can be reduced (wishful thinking, I know)

Units don't have fast enough internals unfortunately. No software update will fix that. Swap to later unit would but they're not upgradeable.
