SCN’ers trades?

I was speaking to another member today about general car stuff and we got to talking about life etc and I mentioned I was looking for a good plumber and would you Adam and eve it he was a plumber! Its amazing you speak to people on here for a while and you forget we all have real jobs to fund our habits!
Now this got me to thinking, would it be a good idea to have an area where people can ask if there are any local people who can help them out with things? Like is there a plumber in the herts area or is there a carpenter in Glasgow area etc. As I have moved to a new area trying to find contractors you can trust is difficult at least with a community like SCN you could have a helping hand as it may not be a SCNer but a recommendation from one? It doenst have to be normal stuff like building works but like drawings or something like speed dating etc, im sure we can all help each other some how as we all have a skill in life, maybe we can call it SCN skill base!? What do we think?

Sounds good to me mate, its always pretty useful, im a quantity surveyor so have a pretty good contractors list for most things in the stoke on trent area!

Well after hearing about a few people who have had some cowboys in and that fooked off with there money its time to try and make sure it doenst happen to us. After all its true what they say "Its not what you know, its who you know!"
