Scratch remover for glass?

We had some rather windy and wet weather here the other day and I somehow got a piece of grit stuck under my wiper blade. It had done a few swipes before I realised what was going on and it has left a perfectly engraved arc across my windscreen! Any idea how to remove it? I know that using polish on a windscreen is not a great idea, but would it be worth trying a squirt of SRP?

As said srp wont remove them, you need an orbital and a glass scratch repair kit. Its a very long process as you nedd to watch the heat! If you had been closer i could have helped as i have one.
