Scratches

A few scratches have been appearing lately which are only noticeable when cleaning/up close but are still annoying.

I know there all part and parcel of owning a car but at the same time i take great care of mine, think its my brother with his school bag!!! grrr!!!

Just wondering if there is any way to get them out maybe colored polish or something?

depends how bad they are?!

Scratch X by Meguires maybe?

then wax over it? usually reduces the scratches depth!

G3. Bloody good stuff. It's a cutting compound.

Works a treat. Comes in a big yellow bottle. If that doesn't shift it, nothing will.

Can 2nd that, have been given some and it worked well on a scratch on my mothers TT. Can hardly see it now.

Matt was amazed when i used it on his at the last meet.

Last night was terrible Josh! We got caught in a fecking tropical strom! Thunder/lightning/POURING rain.

40 mph on the motorway, wipers on full pelt and you couldnt see the person in front of you. Or which lane you were in.

So when you say G3, do you mean Farecla G3 Compound?
How have you used/applied this to your car?
Have you only used it on the affected area? (scratched area)
Or have you gone over the entire car with it?
Is it something I would have to order? Or is it something I could walk into a shop and pickup?

apply by hand or machine as said, only apply to effected aera, a decent factors will prob have it in stock

So what grade would you suggest?
In my case I have a lovely 7 inch scratch on my door that I think has been done by a childs scooter or bike.. that kind of thing. I also have a few scratches of a similar depth that were done by a cat sliding on the bonet, and I also have to patches of light scratches that were done by the stupid inbred chavs at a drive thru hand car wash (I will never go to one of those again!)

ok i use the G3 at work thats in a yellow squeezy bottle. i think G£ only has one grade!

Is G3 okay with metallic paints? I only ask because my dad's got something he used on his Monaro but it said on there explicitly not to use with metallic paint, my Leon is the 'Platinum' (Gunmetal Grey?) colour btw, and has a couple of scratches, a few dinks on the bonnet and a scuff mark on the rear bumper - will G3 be okay with that too?

I guess this is the stuff? Apologies for the questions, but I really, really don't want to screw up my car, and I'm pretty useless at stuff like this!

Your dad has a Monaro? What a ledge!

G3 is ok on metallics yes - you might find it dulls the paint but just polish over the dullness with some decent wax/polish and it'll be good as new.

I'll order some of that G3 stuff then cheers, random question, don't suppose there's a decent alternative I could get from Halfords is there? I've got £50 worth of vouchers that I'll never use otherwise!

Yeh there is some stuff you can get in Halfords - cant remember what it's called though. Could be Autoglymm stuff of some sort - i really cant remember.

Cheers man, I'll go into Halfords sometime and see what they've got, will probably leave it though and get some G3; sounds pretty decent No point in spending these vouchers just for the sake of it.

I just ordered some of this stuff as I have a few annoying scratches appearing. Can anyone recommend a good cloth for applying it? Ta.
