it goes on the wastegate and vents to atmospher rather than back inot the exhaust. stops turbulance in the exhaust and gives good gains apparently on skylines and evo's. but is loud as F##k when hard on the boost.
just wondering if it had been done on here by any one or if any one knew what they were bteer than me.

How many people on here have external wastegates? With the exception of Bill and some of the other BT boys?

not critisising you about this mate......but this is a model specific section, if its gonna end up as a "will this fit my car" question then i can understand martyn's rolling eyes smiley.......
you need an external wastegate to run a screamer pipe, it dumps excess pressure from the turbo to the atmosphere instead of dumping it into the exhaust to escape that way.
as mentioned its for big turbo conversions and wouldnt work on a small item, mainly seen on evo's and skylines yes makes a damn loud noise the wastegate isnt designed for re-circ it goes into the exhaust mate,
not an mot failure the redline skyline runs them iirc seeing it at coombe, that got an mot and as martyn said beat me to it this time
