I sympathise with you mate! Mine got a smack on a roundabout yesterday. Had someone take a look today, and I'm looking at around £500 for a full panel respray.

The problems with cars these days is that although there may not be a lot of cosmetic damage on the surface often underneath is a mess. Crumple zones etc.
I had a bump one at no more then 10mph, only cosmetic damage was a crack reg plate. Underneath all the bumper clips and zones had went, cost over £600 to get it fixed.

Just make sure you involve someone offical, insurance, police etc. I had a similar experience from a woman who offered to pay out of pocket, gave me her details etc. Sent her a full bumper respray quote of £200 (hardly a large amount), she replied with her "mate" works in a body shop says thats way too expensive, never heard from her again. Left me with a sour taste.
Well its going in to get repaired tomorrow and im gonna be driving around in a 63 plate Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi Zetec S mmmmm sporty.. lol
haha at least they give me a BMW 118 D as a courtesy car. i know the feeling of some tool who doesn't pay attention as my leon got wrote off the other week
Up here in the Highlands car hire is limited as to what you can get in July, 1 of my friends used to work out at the Airport as a washer/gopher at a hire car company and they often ran out in the summer and sometimes had to get cars in at short notice from the central belt which some times involved him and 2 other going on the train to Glasgow or Edinburgh to collect some cars and bring them back up... even twice a day...
yeah could of been worse... might of ended up with a limited edition corsa.... and lost it in the car park.....
