Has any other subsriber to SEAT Connect received the following email? Upshot is they're removing the "Honk & Flash" and "Speed & Area alert" features, but not adding anything new. Disappointing, but at least suggesting that a refund could be arranged. A chance to get some cash back if disappointed with the lack of any real features.

An update to your CONNECT services
HOLA,
We would like to inform you that from 25 November, the following functionalities of your CONNECT service will no longer be available:
  • Honk & Flash: activation of honk and lights through the app, when the vehicle and engine are switched off.
  • Speed & Area alert: notification if the vehicle is out of the predefined area or if the speed limit is surpassed.
Based on a review of usage trends, we've decided to focus our resources on services with a higher demand to improve your overall experience.
If you do not agree with this modification, you may exercise your right to terminate your CONNECT services contract within 30 calendar days from the receipt of this notification or from the date when the functions are deactivated, whichever occurs later. In case of termination of the contract, mutual obligations under the contract will cease, and you will be entitled to receive the corresponding refund.
Should you choose to terminate the contract, please reach out to our customer care team.
Your SEAT team

I’ve had the same email, but I’ve never used the honk and flash feature

Same email received a couple of days ago, for the My CUPRA App.

As I've never used the features they're deleting, except to test what they do, it is of no concern to me.

Move along . . . . .

I just received the same email here in Spain, so clearly not just a UK limitation.

The decision is curious and seems a step back to me when EVs are pushing the stuff you can do remotely as an advantage over ICE cars.

Although not an everyday thing, I can see honk and flash being useful for people who can't locate their car hidden behind the SUVs in a large carpark, and if they'd made it like an easy-to-use panic button linked to the SOS, it could be useful if someone tried to rob you nearby. The geofencing alerts also sound brilliant when you read all those stories about budget airport parking companies and garages taking cars on joyrides.
