Seat ibiza 1.6tdi sports rider cr mpg problem

Hello guys I filled my tank up £60 of fuel 45L tank and I get about 320miles I do 20mins to work and about the same back mixed up half motorway miles and the rest around town miles and I only get 35/40mpg at best is that right ??

Doesn't sound right to me! I can get those kind of miles out of my Boc with £60 if I'm careful enough!

I'm not that clued on on diesels I'm afraid so I cant really help much

Have a 60 plate 1.6tdi sport and get between 55 and 60mpg every fill up, the record being 67.3 mpg. You either have a problem or a very heavy right foot.

Do u do loads of motorway miles I do
A mix of both and get in a lot of
Traffic think that could be my problem ??

35-40 on that sort of trip is very poor for a diesel. I'd expect about 45-50 with my 1.2 TSi petrol.

It seems to be characteristic of the 1.6 CR diesel that there are big variations in mpg from car to car though nobody seems to know quite why. There was a guy on here (can't recall the name) who eventually managed to return the car to SEAT and get a refund of the purchase price!

Let's hope that there is a simple explanation for the trouble with your car.
