Hi all

Has anyone replaced the 2 sub frame bolts with higher uprated ones for the likes of Audi or Passat.

I have had tracking done multiple times and always goes out of tracking and wants to go slightly left and over bumps more obvious and when taking off from standstill or slow moving gives slight vibration felt up through wheels but sounds as if coming directly under gear level area gives clunk leaving my driveway all bushing etc are OK mechanic can't find anything is this sub frame bolt issue applicable for the Ibiza 6j5 2013 1.2 tsi dsg.

My head is wrecked with the last year trying to find the culprit has anyone faces same issue

If you have faced same issue do you have pictures or advice

Thanks in advance Patrick

Oh well, seeing as no one has replied, I'll butt in!

I'm surprised that VW and/or Audi are using same bolts but with a higher tensile strength, I'm up against this a bit as I have chosen to buy parts to replace the front springs on a 2009 Ibiza, but I am using an online VW Group parts listing and buying the bits form VW commercial and VW main dealer - really to avoid going near my locate SEAT dealer who is located in a very busy area of town. To compound my problems, I am using a 6R Polo Haynes workshop manual! This means that some torques and tightening methods are different which to me makes no sense as all these marques have the same owner and on the whole the same parts. There seems to be a few nuts where SEAT has carried over components from the previous model, ie the 6L model and this can mean using a "collared" nut where a plain nut had been used in the past, or a "collared with locking grooves" nut where in the past a "collared" nut has been used, this only affects stud fixings as the nut is what gets torqued and the same tensile load on the stud only appears at higher torque applications.

Replacing an 8.8 with a 9.8, 10.9 or 12.9 will increase the torque level that you can use, but is it necessary - have you checked what bolt strength VW use on the same position on a Polo etc, or is this what you are finding when you are referring to VW and Audi?

did this start to happen after it was disassembled and assembled, or it started by it's own?

I have replaced front wishbones and rear lower engine mount e.g doggone mount next week it will get new arb bushes and drop links .

It will have brake sliders greased and also replacing top mount and bearings replaced at same time.

A steering angle sensor reset and tracking all by main dealer

My heart is broken with the noises in a 2013 car WITK ONLY 90K KM WTF LIKE

Oh and also found a hard brake servo hose found cracked at connectors in engine bay so that will be replaced

Mechanic has already replaced both wishbones which came with all new bushes and next week he is replacing shock top mounts and bearings

Rear doggone engine mount already replaced

ALSO doing steering angle sensor calibration and replacing hard brake servo vacuum hose which is split at connectors

Brake caliper sliders to be greased as well

Has had new pads all around noise there before pads replaced and they are on it with 6 months now.

Best description is creaking when braking old wooden ship sound only when braking at speeds lower than 10kmph or so.
Vibration when taking off from standstill eases off when over 10kmph doest matter when straight or with wheel turned

Could it be subframe bolts what torque are they meant to be

I'm at the mercy of mechanic at seat dealer I cant go underneath car I have ms (multiple sclerosis) with limited movemeny and no ramp or lift to get under the car to check subframe bolts
