Yeah seen that. Has launch ctrl running big turbo. Believe its well over 300bhp. Problem is that this engine can only really handle 1.65 bar of boost at redline if tuning is perfect. Thus We are limited by the oem or hybrid replacement from loba. So you have to run a larger turbo keeping boost the same. If you go over 300bhp you need upgraded valve springs, uprated fueling parts like injectors and fuel pump, and also a valve train upgrade which needs custom pistons to fit the valve shapes.

I went for oversized pistons with standard valve setup as I have no interest in going over 300bhp. With launch ctrl on the strip your fine but day to day would be a mass of wheelspin. Think the torque they are running is almost 400mm which isn't going to last long term for the dsg. But they are fitting new clutch plates atm so should be fine.

ha ha indeed, yy
if I were you I would be seriously tempted in a dsg map. They have been tested to different torque levels by the sister company of Autograph cars in Manchester, they release stage 1 and 2 dsg packages aswell as ecu 1,2 and hybrid maps.

Might be just what you need to reclaim the top spot. My car isn't ready yet as Im still having a few issues with smoke, think its some sort of valve seal. Smokes after you revv it after a long idle and pulling out of junctions and when you coast for a bit using engine braking and then reapply the throttle.

Greek government failed to collect 42bl euros in taxes - this is how people can build nice engines because they haven't paid their tax, so we have to bail them out.

When they have the upgraded dsg clutch, and even more power since a bigger turbo is to be installed, they will be looking at well over 400nM of torque, I estimate 420-440Nm. As a reference, a stage 2 revo map with decat downpipe, intercooler upgrade, induction kit will produce 305Nm, so that car will be rapid and will take off quicker than the stage 2 car.

There wouldnt be a lag issue as there is a supercharger to cancel that out. Its all about matching the compressors and AR on the GTx28 setup to the car.

I dont think LOBA is better than a GT28 IMO and I had a LOBA. The limitation with our engine is boost. To make good power with the LOBA you need to run high boost which the engine doe not like as there are to many other issues which arise. For the LOBA to achieve 270Hp or higher it needs around 1.8Bar of boost. The engine kicks off about it when its raised to that level big style. Its a shame as the LOBA isnt even stressed at 250Hp.

How ever with a GT28 setup you will be able to run around 1.5bar of boost resulting in over 300Hp easily without the issues of misfires etc. That boost level is only 250-255Hp on the LOBA. It will also run much lower EGTs as a result of being a larger turbo and more efficient.

that acctually makes sense.

SPOT ON. And its the turbo manifold that is the problem being restrictive. But its plug and play so can run off a standard map.

No it comes with an attachment plate so it can be fitted to a custom manifold. It will need custom tuning straight away for that turbo which will take some time.
