Hi All,

I have been working on the crash damaged 2007 car but am after a little advice / information if possible ... ;)

As stated before the drivers side front wheel is cambering in at the top and if you bolt on the wheel to the hub, there is a different gap between the shocker and wheel rim.

If you put a finger in the passenger side shocker and wheel, there is plenty of space, but the drivers side is a tighter fit on the finger I think about 5-10 mm or there abouts

I have just changed the suspension strut to rule out that being bent and now think about the hub being bent, but a garage told me that sometimes the gap on O/s and N/s can be different anyway and it could be the suspension tower body work that is dammaged.

My question is, what should the gap be between the wheel and shocker, more specifically could somebody try measuring the gap, or putting a finger between the wheel and shocker on both sides of there Ibiza to see if the gap is the same on drivers and passenger side Please?

If I need a new hub, I will of course buy one but just want to find out if the spacing should be the same, or if it is intentionally different ...

Thanks Everyone

Well the hub is a tampered fitting and only the bearings would wear out tbh. If it was the bearings it would make a friction sound when moving and there would be a bit of play/wobble when you spin the wheel.

If its parked a bit slanted on the road or the handbrake is on then it probably would look slanted.

Hi, Well ive got it parked on a vehicle ramp at the moment and used a square against the hub and then after wheel. The passenger side is virtually square to the hub and wheel, but the drivers is cambering in at the top of the wheel.

The car has deffinately had a major suspension knock as someone has put a new bottom arm on, and the drive shaft is bent. (Both replaced again by me)

I have just put a second hand subframe on, shocker, new bushes and suspension consoles. So I thnk the only parts remaining are either the bodywork shocker mount or drive hub itself.

But I was just wondering before buying a suspension hub if the gap between the wheel and strut should be the same or different (drivers and passenger side) as if everybody says the same gap, then it must be the hub that is bent, but if everybody says the gap is different, then I might have to send the car away for carolina body jigging  ...

If someone could check, you would be brilliant !

Thanks for your response...
