Seat iPod cup holder dock

Picking my 2012 FR+ up on Saturday (all being well).. I get to choose £100's worth of Seat accessories.. There's not a lot in the accessories brochure that really takes my fancy.. Maybe the black armrest (i'd pay the extra to make up the difference from the hundred quid) but I'm worried with it being leather it will just look daft and different to the standard cloth interior that's in the car..

So.. I was planning on buying an IPod cable from eBay so am tempted to just get the seat one or the iPod dock.. Does anyone know:
1. Is the cable you get with the dock the same cable you can buy separately? Basically will it work if I hate the dock and want my cup holder back?!?
2. How does the cup holder dock fit into the cub holder. Does it just slot in or are there a couple grub screws or something? I don't want anything that's not reversible..

Yeah it just pushes into the cup holder and the cables just plug into the USB and AUX. But to be honest I tried on in my car and because it's low down your phone stands vertically and you can't really see your phone. Just stand your phone in the cup holder vertically and see what you think, abit too low for my liking!

You can buy a cable off ebay for under £10. If i were you i's get the armrest, i don't have one but everyone that does says they are fantastic!

Get the armrest, definitely.

The way I sit in the car, I barely even rest my arm on it, but its the storage space I've found useful. Especially if you have a plethora of leads and mounts on your glovebox for various phones.

Interesting what you say about th dock being almost pointless as your phone/iPod just sinks right into it... So it doesn't screw in or anything - just pushes in??

I am tempted by the armrest - I didn't have one in my current car (mark 1 FR TDI) and toyed with it a few times.. My only concern is will the "black leather" one look completely out of place with th standard cloth interior?

Having thought about it I really think the armrest would look out of place without some other leather things in the car (hand brake cover maybe)..

I was going to buy the iPod cable from eBay for about £13.99 so I may as well save myself £13.99 and get the dock... That's as long as:

A) I can use the cable that comes with it without using the dock (if I hate the dock)
B) the dock just pushes in and doesn't screw or anything

Nope there connected to the dock so it's either use the dock or not. Trust me there a waste of space. Like other members have said just buy a cable off eBay for £15 ish. All the dock does is push down in the cup holder then you clip your phone in but like I said it aint brilliant with it been vertical and that low down. Get the arm rest and if it looks stupid take it off and flog it. Always people looking for them!

A lot of people have the armrest and it looks great. The leather doesn't look out of place at all.

This pic has got my thinking about making something just like this for my Ibiza Cupra tdi I love the idea design ideas are on the way

There alot better because they have the extension arm. The ones from Seat don't.

The Seat one is only a push fit I believe, whereas this actually has expanding sides, so as you twist the base of the arm the base expands into the cupholder, making it more secure...

Another vote for the armrest! I thought the same when buying mine, but honestly once you get it you wonder how you ever lived without one! (mine doesn't look out of place 1 bit :) )
