seat leon 1.8 t 20v cupra engine ticking noise

Hi there i just purchased a seat leon 1.8 t 20v cupra 2004. Only just started making a ticking noise, upon searching google I have found many people getting similar problems. Also have a family member who works for seat he says its normal and so do alot of people online. I just dont get how it can be normal if the noise hasnt always been there.If anyone else has experienced this or know where to start on how to find the problem please let me know any info and all help will be much appreciated. It's the carbon canister. It always ticks

thanks. can this be removed or replaced or anything to stop it. Also can this cause the oil light to flash on the dash?

Oil light flashing is not good! Get it checked could be low pressure which the 1.8T suffers from

To stop it ticking you can buy a new one or if you remove it map it out as it will bring up an error

the oil light if its yellow, check your oil level,sounds to me it's getting a bit low , just needs topped up with some oil

As said above - ticking noise is normal - oil light flashing is not
