Looks like it's just black 18" wheels and mirror covers, both of which can be bought separately from SEAT and ebay so not very limited really.

Think the titanium pack looks better myself :)

Whilst priced under £20k it may attract some new buyers, the 125psi engine will surely put many off!!

Doesn't seem like a bad deal. Seems to be a dealer unique 'special' though as there's only 55.

My money's on a manufacturing error.

It might be another option to a Ford Focus with the 125ps engine?

Is the black roof part of the special edition 'black' also?

Personally I think engine choices is the only thing that lets the Leon range down. I guess it just confirms what we all suspected with the mk3 FR, that it is really just a trim level now, rather than the 'Sporty' option that it used to be. There's not much sporty about a 125ps engine, yet Seat are happy to fit it in an FR. Which only makes me question even more so why the ACT isn't available on the SE, as it should be. If you can have a 125 FR, why not an ACT SE? I'd buy that in a heartbeat... Except I wouldn't, because you can't have leather on an SE either anymore.

Seats trim options are rapidly turning me off of the brand altogether.

I'd think the reason you can't get leather on an SE is because not a lot of people would want it in the first place. With the exception of the Astra Elite, I can't think of any others in this class

I already have a Leon SE with leather. The only things an FR has that my particular SE doesn't is driving mode selection and the body kit, bigger wheels and sport suspension, none of which I want. I understand why they've done it- to simplify the range, but since these cars are modular and the factory is equipped to build cars in any combination, there just isn't a need to do it this way. It just seems strange to me that Seat are only too happy to sell an albeit limited number of watered down FR's, but the option to spec up an SE like I did before is no longer available. It's fairly obvious which trim level they would like people to buy, but until they offer the option to ditch the rock hard suspension on the FR I'm not interested. Which means as things stand, I'll be looking elsewhere in a couple of months time when it comes to replacing my ST... They seem to be treating the SE as a budget option nowadays, which is a shame, not all of us bought an SE because of budget.

Trim levels should of been

S 1.2tsi 86/ 1.6TDI (90)
SE 1.2TSi (105), 1.4 (125) 1.6TDI(105)
SE+ 1.4(140/150ACT) 2.0TDI (150)
FR 1.8 180 2.0 TDI(184)
FR + 2.0 (220)(engine from the Golf GTI/octy VRS)

Yes! I agree that would have been much better, and much better continuity from previous versions. We all expect a little evolution over time, but what if you don't want a cheap Leon OR an FR? Please take your money elsewhere Sir... It's Ludicrous.

I purchased one of these today, attracted me for the FR trim with larger wheels and a few extra features it was on a promotional range at the time.

The FR 184 that I'm driving is more than just trim level differences - sports suspension (note - multilink suspension in the rear for the 184, the 150ps and 125ps engines don't have that), driving mode selection, bigger wheels and a 184 engine. How is that not a "sporty" difference over an SE, for example?

Don't agree with you regarding the lower powered engines not having 'sporty' credentials…

My wife has a Fiesta Zetec S with 1.0 litre engine that puts out 125 ps. I'd rather drive that on a twisty road than my 184. After I've driven the little Fezza I get back in my Leon and it feels like the steering wheel has been disconnected from the chassis.

It's not always about the stats…..

Agreed about the fiesta, i had the ST for 6 weeks and the handling is second to none. Saying that my 150 sc seats not to bad better than my MK6 golf GTD.

As for the Black ibiza's SG Petch has a one off carbon edition and does that thing look good! pity about the engine size 1.2

Jmac, I actually agree with everything you said pal. I don't think I'd describe even my 1.2TSI as slow, but whether 125ps stays true to the FR 'heritage', I'm not so sure. The top tier FR models are of course a different beast entirely.

The 'hot' fiesta is a cracking little car too, one of only a few Ford's I'd ever consider buying.

I agree with this. My previous car was a Polo 1.2 TSI with 105 PS and it was a quick little thing, even more so when I had it remapped to around 135 PS. Small engines with a turbo pick up really well at town speeds. Nothing wrong with a 125 PS in an FR.
