Hi,
i took my fr to seat deals to have cam shaft sensor done the day after i picked it up, i drove to alton towers to find the have left a big bunch of wires against my fan which burnt through plastic casing and through wires, had to call aa out to get it back to them as i was 2 hours away, seat have now done work and admitted it was there fault. i am unhappy as they rip you of any way and i am wanting to take this further as i have done all the messing about and paid money to have cam shaft sensor done is there a way i can get some compo from this?

this comment scares me!
are you looking for a goodwill gesture to put your confidence back in the dealer after they made a minor but incoveniencing mistake?

or are you looking for serious compo for something that probably doesnt merit a serious compnesation?

im just reading what you wrote and it sounds like your looking for compensation that doesnt relate to the size of your problem...

id expect at least the next service (basic parts and labour costs) to be thrown in free...but after that? in mot sure

Haha sorry mate did not tell full story I had to pay aa call out. Lost £60 as could not go Alton towers as had to sort car out because was stock at Alton towers. They charge £80 labour an hour and the serious side the loom which was cut through was some thing to do with the engine also lost £80 on meal which paid for I have gave them
All receipts they advised me when I first picked car up all is fine and ready to go. If I pay there stupid prices I want they work to be 100% I spoke to seat customer care they advised this is bad and they are gonna look into why it was even let out the shop and not quality checked. It took them
3 time to diagnose a problem and when they finally found the problem and ordered a cam shaft sensor it was broke had to wait again. Annoys me how they charge so much I have no confidence in seat doing my car again they need to be made aware they can't just correct a problem they need to aknowledge the danger they put me and my kids in doing this. That's why I want to take it further. Not them offering me some diesel in my car to make up for it.

I think you should at least get your £80 aa back and a full service when do, this might save you £200 dont know if you will get any more out of them but worth a try good luck.

i agree, also i wasnt wanting to sound harsh but without the details you've now supplied you sounded like you just wanted serious compo..

anyhow, id say you want fully reimbursing for your failed day out with the family.
they worked on your car and made a balls of it!

push seat customer care not the dealer, and insist that the compensation package, money or services in leiu of money is made available at the dealership.

alternativley look for your next closest seat dealer and use them in future.

remember car dealerships are private 'shops' working in a franchaise manner to sell seat cars....they representing seat but not part of seat itself....if that makes sense. feel free to use another seat dealer and you will hopefully see better service

I would say that a refund for the diagnostic work and repairs that were carried out should be high on the cards. Its not very likely you'll get any cash back for the AA call out charges or spoilt day out but the dealer in question may give you a free service as a good will, i'm sorry, please dont tell anyone about your bad experince sort of gesture.

Which dealer was it? or if you prefere not to say which area of manchester was it in?

the compensation package, money or services in leiu of money

its more likely to get something to the value of your inconvenience rather than actual cash, thats wot im getting at here.
its easy to write off the cost of a service rather than actually giving you say £150 cash in your hand

good luck

I completely agree mate, its very rare for a dealer to re-emberse you in cold hard sterling.
