Hi, I have a 2010 seat Leon fr cr170 DSG and when I try reverse my car after its been started in neutral or park it will engage reverse fine but if I have been driving then come to a complete stop, engage reverse it will thud/clank a few times and just rev freely and the car will behave as if it's in neutral and also the gear symbols on the MFD display will start flashing .. However if am driving and before I come to a stop I engage neutral (whilst still rolling) then come to a complete stop and engage reverse it will work fine.
I have had the car in to seat and they said it could be the mechatronic unit or the gearbox itself but can't guarantee which it is, I don't have the kind of money they're asking either, what do you guys reckon it could be and any possible fixes?
I have changed the gearbox oil and filter on time at 40k miles and the car has just covered 50k.
P.S I have had the car scanned myself with my friends vag com and it came up with the following-
19143 - unexpected / implausible mechanical gear disengagement
P2711 - 004 - - intermittent - MIL ON
