Reversing camera - feed drops after 30 seconds

Hey all,

I'm dealing with a bit of a reversing camera puzzle on my SEAT Ibiza (2016) that I'm hoping someone can help me figure out.
Initially, I tapped the reverse camera into the reverse fuse slot using a fuse tap, but the feed was staying at a constant 12 volts and keeping the camera powered (and heating it up after an extended time) even when I wasn’t in reverse. So I switched to wiring it to the rear reverse light directly.
That did improve things a bit, and now the camera does initially come on with the reverse light. However, after about 30 seconds of being in reverse, the camera feed drops even though the reverse light stays on.
I have a Sony aftermarket head unit fitted in the car which never gave hassle and kicks into reverse mode when I put the car into gear, in case the headunit is relevant.
Has anyone run into this kind of issue or have any suggestions on a more stable wiring solution?

Thanks a million
