Hi everyone,

I have a Seat Leon ST 5F, 2019, FR trim, and I’m hoping someone here has experience with this issue.

One morning the rear view camera suddenly stopped working. Since then, there’s no image at all when I engage reverse. The system only shows a message saying “Park Assist not available.”

Important details:
  • Parking sensors still work normally
  • Fuse is OK
  • No warning signs before it failed, it just stopped overnight
Has anyone dealt with this before?

Could it be a common issue with the camera itself, wiring (tailgate?), or the control module on this model?

Additional detail that might be relevant:
The license plate lights also stopped working around the same time (camera stopped after the light replace) . I replaced them with OEM parts, but they still don’t work. I’m wondering if the system just needs a fault code cleared, although I haven’t had a chance to connect diagnostics yet.

And BTW, has the RVC something common eith the wiring going to the trunk door? Some articles say that the wiring there has a potential to crack.

Don't know where you're at with your problem but I had this issue with my car. Are you able to check if when you put your car in reverse, you have the reverse light on ? If not, your problem is probably a broken/corroded cable on a connector on the gearbox that activates the reverse mode an turn on the light and the camera. It is located under the front part of your vehicle under the underbody protection. Keep us in touch ! :)
