Try Osram. Go to their website and choose a color temperature that would match your sidelights. If your sidelights are LED, you could perhaps go for 5000K bulbs which should match perfectly. And as for the fog lights, any 4700K+ temperature bulbs will be fine, or maybe even LED fog light bulbs from hids-direct or somewhere else.

Can you recommend a set of bulbs for an fr tdi, was gonna get some of the superbright halfords bulbs, claims 120% brighter than oem, then they have 90% and 50%s aswell, its £30 bogof would have got them but i hear of warning light issues??
Looking a nice white, no xenon blues or anything silly, and like above something that would suit led sidelights

I've just fitted (yesterday) the Osram Xenarc Cool Blue to match my LED side lights. Once warmed up they are a perfect match but look a little blue when first turned on. Managed to get a set at £80 on eBay.

Got my LED side lights and DRL's from HID-Direct. can Bus ones.

I've personally left the fog lights, as a yellow light is better for driving in fog and I don't drive with them on in day light. I know they come on while for cornering but I don't see that lol

Nothing wrong with the halfords bulbs I have the ultra brilliance ones in mine and ghey are fantastic.
Whoever has gold you about warning light issues with these are talking bull excrement lol

Warning lights issues are caused by using led bulbs that are not can bus friendly.

Im new to seat so iv never had a car that has so many electronics lol, iv probably picked it up along the forum somewhere and assumed it was common
So apart from the £30 halfords ones is there any in that price range you would recommend? Probably wouldnt spend more than £30 outside of halfords as i would need to use my own cash :p

Quite a few rave about the osram nightbreakers mate, so might be worth having a look at those.

I have usd both the osrams & the halfords over the years and imho tbe halfords ultra brilliance are better than tbe night breakers

Personal preference though

Do you find the white does actually help you on the road, i had cheapish 6k hids in the civic and they were awful on country roads, on coming cars would overpower your lights while you pass them, your eyes adjusting to the change pretty much made you temporarily blindfolded ffs

@Roganjosh I have been dealing with HIDs and stuff for a long time now and I have learned that anything above 5000K is just for looks and show. When it comes to light output and actually improving visibility over the halogen, 4300K are 5000K are your best options. When it comes to halogen bulbs, I have tried several and the best two were Philips Extreme and Osram Nightbreaker Plus, but I stuck with the latter as I felt they were stronger and had a better output whereas the color is nearly identical. I now have Osrams all around - low beam, high beam, fog lights and Osram Cool Blue Intense in the sidelights for a while before I purchased new head lights which use LEDs instead of sidelights.

So in short, Osram Nightbreaker Plus are the best for me, however as Andy said, it's all about preference.

I have Halfords Ultra blue Brilliance in my MR2, excellent, not blue but nicely white:)

If you want white and legal, go for MTECs

other than that there pretty much all the same, great output, but not as 'pure white' as MTEC

but see less distance with MTEC

OR HIDs..... Lots of choice 5000k colour are the whitest/brightest with no blue/yellow

The upgraded bulbs are good no matter what the manufacturer.

when a van/ambulance is driving towards you half a mile away, the lights always catch the reflective strips on the hi viz jackets or uniforms!!!

I've got the super bright halfords lights, and I assure you they aren't that bright mate. Got this link recommended to me (yet to buy them) but heard great things about them:

Hope this helps, if you get them let me know!!

Ordered these yesterday from Performance Creations. Been advised they were dispatched this morning.
Will try and get some pics up when i get them installed.
