Hey guys, pretty soon ill own a mk1 leon 1.9 TDI 2000 SE (110bhp)

Just wondering what my options for tuning/modifying are as its the older engine (AFH i think) so not sure what mods can be done or if most are specific to the PD engines.

Remapping is a given, its been tuned to 146 bhp but i really want to push it to 180 minimum :p

Plenty of people (self proclaimed mechanics though...) say that BHP means nothing in a diesel and its all about the torque.. id like a pretty high number for both :p keeping it safe so the engine wont explode is a must haha

ive been reading up on the bigger injectors and 130/150 turbos, mafs etc but i dont know if they'll fit mine as it isnt a PD :/

any help or tips for the newbie would be mucho appreciado :)

cheers
Mac

Yeah but all the threads im reading are about the PD engines :/
Mine is the VE or whatever its called so ive no idea if turbos etc will even fit... might just get the petrol cupra engine and drop it in

The thread I linked is for the 110TDi, non-PD.

If you put a petrol engine in you'd need to change the gearbox as the diesel gearing would be far too high and also the suspension as the springs and dampers would be optimised for the heavier diesel lump.

Hi mate i also have the 110tdi, currently kicking about 141bhp and looking to get more form it.

Hoping to get 0.216 nozzles from a transporter van and custom remap in the near future looking at 180-190bhp.

Then save up for a new turbo and clutch? lol
