I was wondering if you can help me.

I have a 2007 Seat Leon 1.9 tdi. I have removed the factory fitted stereo to replace it with my stereo as it has built in Sat Nav etc......

I have purchased –
Double Din Fascia - £50
Pocket for one of the slots - £14
Adaptor to the existing cable to the cable at the rear of my stereo - £20
I also have to get the adaptor from the aerial to the aerial connection on my stereo £15.

Problem I have got, the stereo wont play. I’ve been to Halfords and the guy removed one wire into a constant live and the stereo comes on. He says I cant leave it like that tho because there is constant power being fed through to the stereo and the battery will go dead over night.
He has told me he needs to run a wire from my hand break to the stereo so it switches off when the ignition is off.
He says he will have to take all the panels off around the hand break and also part of the dash board???

Is there anything I can do to save all this hassle?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

you need to either run a separate wire from the fuse box for ignition feed or you can buy an adaptor harness from connects 2, which is about £30.00. I suspect the wire adaptor you bought does not have the ignition feed, and judging by the price you paid, it does not.

look at the adapter and the car harness wires the cable colours should match up, but in ur case the power is in the wrong one when you look closeley you will see it i forgot what colour it is, also you need the steering wheel adapter too.

Hello.

I have just checked. The red wire is running to the red and yellow to yellow.
It was previously vice versa and worked this way in my previous Mk1 Seat Leon so this is why I am bamboozled as to why its not working?

It does work when the yellow and red are put in the same connector, but the halfords guy said this would drain the battery even if the stereo is on standby?

Was just hoping to save another 30quid given ive already spent neraly £100 just to put the stereo in! You can see my frustration!
I appreciate the advise tho thank you.

Hi there. I have looked and it does have the connector?
Thats what the halfords guy said about running a seperate feed.
Was just hoping there was a way around it given it worked in my Mk1 Leon.
Thanks for the reply tho.
