I was wondering if you can help me.

I have a 2007 Seat Leon 1.9 tdi. I have removed the factory fitted stereo to replace it with my stereo as it has built in Sat Nav etc......

I have purchased –
Double Din Fascia - £50
Pocket for one of the slots - £14
Adaptor to the existing cable to the cable at the rear of my stereo - £20
I also have to get the adaptor from the aerial to the aerial connection on my stereo £15.

Problem I have got, the stereo wont play. I’ve been to Halfords and the guy removed one wire into a constant live and the stereo comes on. He says I cant leave it like that tho because there is constant power being fed through to the stereo and the battery will go dead over night.
He has told me he needs to run a wire from my hand break to the stereo so it switches off when the ignition is off.
He says he will have to take all the panels off around the hand break and also part of the dash board???

Is there anything I can do to save all this hassle?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

When I had my double din fitted, I had to have a ignition cable ran in the cable basically on the turn of the ignition gives the stable 12v for the stereo and when the ignition is turned off then hey presto it goes off. If you go to a car audio installer they will I stall the cable for like 20 quid and put it into your wiring harness for your stereo!
