Hi,
I have a Seat Leon TDI 110 2005 and i am wondering what is the safest and cheapest way to tune my car.

A remap is probably the easiest (decent/proper) way of getting more power out of your car, but you don't really say what you want.

There is no cheap way of safely tuning your car, you have to put some money in your car to get some decent modifications, you can start with a chiptuning, then go to a intercooler, exhaust / downpipe , other turbo, uprated clutch. Remember that you easily pay 600pounds for most of these mods.

How much are remaps, how much more bhp will it give out?
ive just heard that tuning boxes are quite cheap and give out around 27 bhp

If you want to **** up your engine a tuning box is just good for you. These things continually give bad signals to your engine, which eventually will lead it to fail. A remap is completely new software for you engine. A good remap will cost you about 400-600pounds, and will give your engine 25-35max extra hp.
Remember you don't have a pd engine so I would think 25 extra hp is gonna be it for you.

 A 110bhp Leon isn't an FR or Cupra. It's just a normal Leon so you can choose the trim level (generally).

Andythom are you drunk mate :) he says its a 110 TDI LEON what more do you need to know.

The pic is the old leon. So it could be his.

No mate I am not drunk, the leon in his pic is a cupra, which used a PD engine.....

Where are you getting the info that mk1 leons were all non PD???

130 and 150 PD engines were in the leon mk1.....

If the leon in his avatar is his then its a PD

Hu? Where did I say that, I know the 130 and 150 are PD but his is a 110 and that is not PD. Mate you are drunk [B)]

Woah chill out people...

Fair enough the lad says he has a 110 tdi leon, but his avatar pic looks like a cupra 150... thats all..

Remap if you want good gains for reasonable money...

How much have you got to spend, and what power are you after.?

Yeah my leon is a 2005 model, one of the last of the old model, it's just got a cupra kit on it m8.

I didn't realise they still produced the non-PD 110's at that time...anyway, back on topic...

Best value mod is definitely a remap.
You don't have to pay £400+ for a decent remap. Try Upsolute who've been tuning non-PD TDIs for years or one of the tuners who lurk around here, you should be looking at £250 tops.

However you will feel much more confident in the car and enjoy it's performance more, if you improve the brakes and suspension too.
