SEAT lives on! New Leon hybrid to be followed by 'surprise' update | Auto Express

Yeah I've just seen the presentation of two "new" cars with the jurnos in Spain but under embargo until the end of the month. I thought this was under embargo too but clearly not!

Reckon this has happened before I find your embargoed material from Seat / Cupra gave you, but it's in the wild. Those videos might be out there as well..

I was wondering why there had been no pictures or announcements and vague reporting...

Someone will leak it, doubt it is worthy of the Dark Web though; SEAT released a video of the 'new cars' in early 2024.

The cars are yet to be pushed into that space :ROFLMAO: .

I'm interested in what they will offer as the Ateca replacement or not bother. Where the line goes between their core cars and the ones they reckon they wont do. It had been nothing apart from the run out of ICE. Now its Hybrid but what about EV.

I see an Ibiza EV when batteries are cheap enough with the MEB+ platform of the ID Polo and Raval underpinning it. Seems Skoda is now posh and for the elderly grey pound, well older demographic like Toyota?. So SEAT will have to be the budget baby to bring in gen alpha to VAG from what I have read.

I assumed the Terramar would replace the Ateca? SEAT stay small and budget.

Terramar only if they drop the Cupra logo. There is that Skoda EV, the Elrog which is the Karoq EV type of deal which could be run out as the Ateca... the Evaca 🤣. They got to name it after a town. They were not snotty about having three SUVs for their three brands making nine cars. Now they have the Cupra brand and I doubt they will go down market offering those models to Seat.

It's probably an indication of whether there will be a Leon 5 as to where it's all going and whether they support mid sized SUVs like the Ateca, but we'll see. The practically of not having a full dealer network for Cupra and systems not working correctly may be a limiting factor to sales. You never know.

We'll have a video review of both the cars when the embargo is lifted on October 29th. The event wasn't about the Leon but they did show this roadmap for SEAT. On the plane back currently. Someone has to take one for the team. ;-)

It's a hard life - still cannot believe the embargo though; invite you out to see, then tell you to keep QT till the end f the month. May as well have had it on the 29th. Anyhow, hope you did not get sun burn nor missed the grey clouds of blighty! Will you know full UK spec and prices by the 29th though?
