Service Interval Confusion

I'm trying to work out when my mk2 2.0TDI is due for its next service. I searched the forum but just made myself even more confused.

The car is an 06 plate and curretnly has 75000 miles on the clock. I've only owned it for 2 months. The logbook shows 6 previous services being carried out with the last one being done at 67000 miles.

So when should i get the car serviced? and what should be done at this service?

Cheers

Services are yearly or 10000 miles (whichever comes first). Service history should show what was done, if not you could eother phone the garage who did it or get a "full" service for peace of mind and then a minor service next time. Thats my advice

The service intervals are as follows -

Every 10,000 miles or 1 Year (whichever is soonest) - Oil Change Service

Every 20,000 miles or 1 Year (whichever is soonest) - Inspection Service

So you can see that if you have a car doing high mileage - as yours has been - you can just change the oil every other service and then have a 'proper' service in between. I expect if you check the service record you'll find that it has had alternating oil change and inspection services up til now.

Dependant on the mileage you're doing now, you'll need to decide whether to continue alternating oil and inspection services or not and also when the next service will be due. If you're doing low annual mileage then this will be 12 months from your last inspection service

Is it possible to check the km or miles to next service from the MFD somehow? Or does it just prompt the driver when its due to service?
