Servicing - DIY or Garage?

My Toledo is due for a service. In the past I have always serviced my own cars because I generally haven't got service histories with them. This one I do have a service history for. The car is 11 years old though and I plan on keeping it for a few years. Should I break the service record and do it myself? Is there any value in keeping a service record for a car that will have over 100k on the clock in the next 2 years? I like the idea of a FSH but then can I justify the extra expense?

On an 11 year old car (especially a Toledo) you're unlikely to see any financial benefit when you come to sell it, you might get an extra £100 at best but you'll save that on your first home service.

Hmmm I think you are right. I got a local mechanic who will do the whole wack - oil, filter, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter and other usual service checks for £90. Think I'll do it myself in future though. Plus there is something satisfying about working on your own car :D
