Well i just got my self a Puma Thunder with 30000 miles on the clock and must say its a great car Good points are:
1. Looks good and all the ladys love it
2. Handling is amazing a real drivers car
3. Great feed back through the steering
4. 1.7 does not seem much slower than my ibiza 2L 16v
5. Does not seem to tram-line on uneven roads
6. The best gear change that i have ever come across
7. Sounds good
8. Its got air con
9. tyres are cheap compared to the 16 inch toyos are £30 each for 195/50/15
10 Brakes are up to the job but not as good as the Cupra
11. general ride is better.

But  i still have the bug for ibiza, yes the Kiwi green is faded and yes every body know's who or where you are when you drive it like i stole it.
But I,m still not sure:confused:

1) because they want it (a woman's car IMO)
2) agreed
3) its ok
4) i disagree
5) mine don't tram line :S lol
6) well anything is better than the 4 mile throw of the gti lol
7) not better than a mk2 gti :p
8) well you can get AC in a gti too
9) you can run 15" wheels on your gti, with 195/50/15, they have the same rolling radius (well 5mm difference in diameter) over a 195/45/16 wheel
10) agreed
11) well it isn't a "hot hatch" is it?

i know what you mean, there are better cars, but the ibiza pulls you back in, i wanted to sell mine so much, then i can't do it, it's a drug :p

Yes the pumas a great drivers car but still the ibiza seems part of me :) i have had it for about 11 years (95000 trouble free, rust free miles)
Whats funny to me is that the puma has always been known as drivers car but the MK 2 ibiza cupra hasn't but i do not think there is a massive differance between the two.
Well gearchange is not very good :(
not great feed back through the steering
probably would be better with spacers on the rear as i have know idea how much this will make

yeah people do say spacers make a difference, most people go for 15-20mm (or 25mm if you want extra poke lol)
i just run 8J rear wheels :p makes the steering perfect

PS 11years? that is epic mate, i probably will keep mine for a long time too, but 11 years? hmmm lol

Well if you can afford to keep it as a weekend toy then why not? Its lost all the value its going to loose.

I agree the Puma IS a better drivers car than the GTi and if you keep that 1.7 on the boil its no slower at all
