RobDon has had one one - but apparently reception was below-par.

Shortest I would personally go would be the honda S2000 aerial - which is what I have. About 1/4 of the length of the original, and reception still very good :)

is it just a case of unscrewing the end and putting the s2000 one in its place or do you have to change the housing etc

Have to agree, not for me really. It's trying to be a BMW part, and that's just not cool. The only saving grace is the fact that the Leon aerial is at the back of the roof.. looks stupid at the front of the car!

Yep Tyler that sounds about right but one more good tug should see it come out, I had the same problem with mine but held the roof section with one hand while "tugging" with the other - I ended up putting the original back on as the honda aeriel didn't fit :censored: , the thread was too short!!

There is a trick to it to get the Honda aerial on. Yes the thread is short, but it's still doable. What you need to do is really push the aerial into place very hard while turning enough just to catch the thread. Once you have caught the thread it's plain sailing, but you need a considerable amount of effort to push the aerial on.

I personally think it looks tidier if it's not been cut. I was tempted to cut mine to make it easier but after seeing the pics I decided against it. It is a bit of hassle, but it's something you only need to do once!

yeah as above i changed my standard aerial for a honda s2000 one, the thread is short but put pressure on it and twist and the thread will catch, this will save you having to trim some of the rubber off it.
