As title says. Which is better? Anyone work in the petroleum industry that can elaborate on the differences? Just want to know which will give optimum performance for my revo'd LCR? Cheers

In previous cars (always NA and mostly high capacity) I have always found T99 to be the best but I find our FL Cupra a bit flat on T99 so I use BP Ultimate or Shell VPower and find little difference between the two.
The basic 99ron fuel is the exact same. Then as the tankers arrive to get filled up, they all have their own special additives that go into the tanker and it mixes while driving around.
You'd need to find someone who works for both companies to tell you the additives and thats pretty unlikely.
From what I know of fuel (very little, even though I work in Grangemouth regularly), any difference felt would be placebo

I use total excellium. There wasn't any excellium the other day so I had to put normal unleaded in and the car ran the same.
Was there not a thread recently here about contaminated Tesco fuel?

From what I heard, it affected all 99ron fuels from that batch, but it seemed to be that more Tesco customers noticed differences.
Best thing to do I's find 1 and stick to it the best you can. Going from tesco to shell may feel a bit different as the additives are different so the ecu nay need time to adjust to the different fuel. Especially I'n cars that are mapped. Not so much for stock.
Anyway I find using total 95 fuel I get poor economy but with sainabury super 97 I get about 2-5 mpg better. And with v power about the same. Maybe another 1-2 mpg. So from total 95 to shell 99 I personally get a extra 5 mpg average which works out better. I don't have tesco 99 so can't compare.

i use tesco found it best , v power i found was all over the place sometimes good but sometimes crap , bp ultimate was the worst i have used of the 3 and most expensive

Yeah Rob when I first got it I always used vpower and thought it was fine.
Once prices started creeping up tesco is 5p a litre cheaper so ran tesco constant for over 6 months and find as you say performance doesn't vary from tank to tank.
So price and performance tesco wins for me.

I get 1% more power with V-Power than Tesco99 however Tesco is literally next to me...no brainer for me really... 
I've tried both. Tesco is much cheaper and I dont notice any difference with shell premium

from a very knowladgable tuning friend who deals with scoobys v power is great compared to the tesco stuff, it even gives some poor race fuels a rn for their money.

I don't buy all the "has to run through the tank a few times". If I get short for some reason, and put a tenner of 95 in the tank. INSTANTLY the car feels crap. No placebo effect at all. Car feels crap. Will work both ways, so you will see improvements on same tank.
I prefer the tesco tbh. Feels smoother
