Short shift issue

Have I missed something?

Fitted my tt short shift today and can't select reverse, all other gears seem to be fine

Are the bits that clamp on the threaded rod in the right place try moving them to see if it improves it.

you must have it fitted down on the wrong splines i had this problem on my old short shifter briefly.

Clamp is in the right place, must be on the wrong spline. I'll have another look this week when I'm back at car.

You shouldn't be able to put it on the wrong spline as there's one spline bigger than the rest to located it on

Aye I followed the link so not sure what I've done, i will strip it back off and try again.

I lost reverse too when I did it, takes some fiddling to get it to sit right on the spline sometimes, helps to have someone in the car monitoring how the gearsticks moving

What short shifter do you have and how much are they I want one for my ibiza

If you pull back the gater around the gearstick there is a bracket on it that you can put a pin through to locate it properly then adjust the bit on the gearbox so it sit as it should then release the springs back and take the pin out the gearstick then should be in the right place iirc
