I lost reverse too when I did it, takes some fiddling to get it to sit right on the spline sometimes, helps to have someone in the car monitoring how the gearsticks moving
 
If you pull back the gater around the gearstick there is a bracket on it that you can put a pin through to locate it properly then adjust the bit on the gearbox so it sit as it should then release the springs back and take the pin out the gearstick then should be in the right place iirc
