At the risk of sounding stupid here goes..............I had side skirts and a spoiler fitted to my cupra by the dealer and I noticed that they are not a exact colour match. My cupra is inferi black and looking closely at the skirts and spoiler they are just plain black, this is only really noticable in sunlight. Is this normal or should they be an exact match?

My aero kit ( candy white ) is not an exact match either , although as you state it is barely noticable . Its just that im a picky so and so . I have seen 2 or 3 differnet leons with the kit on and to be honest none of them looked a spot on match . Possibly a known problem ?

It could be because the skirts and the spoiler are made out of plastic/fibreglass so the paint is not going to be an exact match. Just a theory.

they should at least be both a shade of inferi black, unless you wanted otherwise.

post some pics.

Surely, unless you bought a k1 or btcc, they were dealer fit:confused: In which case if the dealer has its own body shop it would do a correct colour match as they are supplied to the dealers in primer?? Or they would use a local bodyshop to do it for them and fit themselves......
They should have used the paint code from your car, and still made sure it was colour matched...
I would not be happy.
If however its factory then its seats problem

It was fitted by the dealer and they used a local bodyshop to get it sprayed. The dealer took my VIN number and said that they would be able to get the colour code from that.

Thats what worries me about getting mine done, my local dealer doesn`t have its own bodyshop either. Mines luna grey and is very difficult to match, the whole car looks a bit mismatched now.
Inferi black is a fab colour, but should match properly. They obviously didn`t use the same paint, it has kind of purple flecks in it doesn`t it?
Get back and complain, good luck......

My skirts are a slightly different shade to the car (not too noticable) and every other Leon I've seen with skirts or BTCC kit is slighlty different to a greater or lesser extent. The guy at the bodyshop reckoned it is due to the plastics vs. metal thing and also some paints from can vary in Quality. I got an opinion from a couple of different bodyshops after I got it done and they were all of the same opninion. You need to make a decision on whether you think the difference is within acceptable limits, subjectively all bodyshops I took mine to afterwards thought it was, but your maybe be a different story, go and find out!

Also the skirts particularly can look different because of the way they face up at the front therefore reflecting light differently. At the back they look almost perfect because of the way the shape there is more similar to the curve of the bodywork above.

I have a K1 in candy white and the rear bumper doesn't even fit never mind a colour
mis-match. My dealer has left me hanging for two weeks!

If anyone is listening. Never buy a car from Arnold Clark. Aftersales is non existant.

my plastic bumpers dont match the metal panels and thats from the factory!!!! my bodyshop did a better job with the skirts and tailgate spoiler lol SEAT use glasurit waterbased paint so unless you painters are on the same scheme you are beat before you start. match on black is usually ok, so is silver, red is poor, yellow is the painters nightmare lol also noticed factory paint runs on the a pillars and really bad paint blobs on the bonnet pointy bits, plus a dirt nib on the roof. def not happy, im going to ask SEAT to come inspect it

mine are a perfect match. I suppose its down to the quality of the bodyshop they use.

The dealer has agreed to take the car back and get it resprayed. Hopefully they get it right this time!
