OEM is rubber 100%
Not a trace of silicone on it. If you blades are already badly worn, try to take some silicone spray/stick and run along in it a couple of times and let the rubber "soak" it in. Now try to use the wipers after. You will get the idea pretty easily. Silicone wipers are actually just that, rubber with silicone in it.
Here is a 2 year old silicone blade vs a NEW normal rubber blade. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99bXzqA1gnY
Rain-x twice a year on the screen has the same effect.
See post #15.
If you have branded aero blades then they are only supposed to go on one way as the spolier/blade is angled a certain way to keep them pressed against the screen at speed. If they are cheap ones then the angle may be the same both sides so they can be swapped without issue
Word of warning, I purchased the WUK65E blades as listed here:
http://www.piaa.co.uk/wipers/wipershow.asp?make=SEAT&model=LEON+2&year=09/05-
These are for my '06 Mk2 Leon, but they DO NOT fit the wiper arm with any of the supplied adaptors! Just emailed them to find out which is the correct blade as the one listed is clearly not.
I use it on all my cars. Works great.

Did you manage to get this sorted out?
Was looking to buy a set until coming across your post.
