Some idiot cut in front off me and got a windchip. It was a pretty big bang but got away with a small chip. It's mid-top just where the mirror is. Not visible from inside:

Is it worth/possible getting it filled?

I’d personally get it filled - especially with it being colder and frostier now. Could turn into a crack pretty quickly if it’s not sorted. Think it cost me £10 with autoglass last time through my insurance to get 3 chips filled (was a couple of years ago). Much cheaper than a new windscreen, and they can come out to your work or home.

Cheers .... I tried to book it with autoglass oniine, selected 1 chip, "match size" 2mm. But got:

"You probably don't need a repair

Because the chip is very small, it will only affect the surface of the glass, not the deeper structure which keeps your windscreen strong. This means the damage won't spread, even during bad weather or bumpy journeys."

unless I select smaller than a 2 point coin, it wouldn't let me book a repair ...

The windscreen glass companies inject a clear resin into areas of repairable damage, but in order for the resin to stay in the repaired area, I think the area of damage needs to be a certain size or depth. That’s probably why Autoglass are saying you don’t need a repair.

I bought a kit from Halfords (think it was RainX that made it). Couple of sticky things, a plunger, and some resin stuff. Fixed two chips on my window myself in work carpark one afternoon. You need a sunny day though to do it.
