Smoke behind engine

okay then earlier left the car ticking over after a drive notices smoke coming through the vents

popped the bonnet and there was smoke rising from the back of the engine

turned the car off and back on and it started again, took it for another drive looked again and nothing...
left to cool and started the car again not smoke again

i have had a smell coming through my vents for a while now.

just after some pointers at where it could be from??

1 Turbo outlet elbow?
2 turbo oil lines but surely it would be constantly smoking then?
3 DP to tubo gasket but surely this wouldnt smoke like this as theres no smoke from exhaust?

any help/ideas would be spot on

Have you worked on the car lately, i get this everytime, as i touch my oilly hand on the exhause manifold, panic then realise its just burning the dirt off.

Had the charge pipe off a few weeks ago.

Will keep an eye on the situation and see if it carries on.

I do keep getting the smell through the vents though :-S

My exhaust flexi bit is ripped when i turn it over I get lots of smoke due to it moving

It could be an oil leak which is going on to the exhaust mani and burning off, is it a burnt oil smell?

Hope mine aint its a brand new 3" system

I know theres a slight leak for the dp to turbo connection though will swap this and go from there

Its off into the garage to be poly bushed on thursday so will get them to have a sneaky look whilst its up on the ramps

Heard the oil lines are a pita to get to

Mine creates a small amount of smoke when its been driven hard, by that I mean turbo glowing.

Is it a thing that happens all the time or only under certain conditions?

Only seems to happen at certain times

Wasnt doing it after a drive tye other day
But happened when starting up from warm (been driven 20mins before)

Can smell fumes whilst stationary. Traffic lights etc etc but that maybe just my dp to turbo gasket slightly leaking which i know it is
