I have noticed that sometimes when I put my foot down especially in 6th I get a puff of white/grey smoke. Most of the time its black but wonderd what It could be.

Cheers

sounds about right for a diesel mine smokes when you accelerate a bit but thats normal even more so if you havent exercised the vanes in the turbo for a while they can get stuck up with diesel/soot depoists so its usually a good idea to open the beast up every now and again in lower revs to get the vanes fully open and hot that burns the cr$p off and makes abit of smoke but what the hell

It's nothing to worry about, both mapped and standard cars can do this, more noticeable on remapped cars though. You will find it can smoke a little more if not used for a while or not had a good clear-out for sometime.

So the white smoke is nothing to worry about. I thought it wud idicate that the turbo is on it way out?

Ok, sorry didnt read your post thoroughly enough. Are you getting anything else other than whiteish smoke? As i must admit on mine it is very hard to tell what colour the smoke is really. Are there any abnormal whistles/squeeks coming from the turbo when going on and coming off boost?

mine tdi sport was smoking when you put yer foot down ,but ive been reading the threads about the EGR valve and ive fitted a blanking plate between the valve and the exhaust gas pipe
this has stopped the car smoking completely

The problem with that is it will cause a fault code. The PD150/160's set up has an additional sensor for emmisions where the PD130's hadn't.

Regarding the smoke, It's all down to the experience of the mapper. My car with 220bhp+ doesn't do that.
