has anyone done this before or know anyone who has on an ibiza? my engine bay will be getting the smothing treatment over the weekend but the only thing that is bothering me doing it is the masses of wires that ill have going back into the engine bay leaving it not as clean as id hoped.

does anyone have any pics of any ibiza smothed engine bays or any 20vt's with all the wires hidden?

cheers gaz

I believe PhilW is the guy to speak to about this, im under going this aswell, getting rid of the ac, expansion bottle, washer bottle, battery in boot etc you want to run the wiring behind the front wings of the car.

cheers for that guys phil lives around 10 miles away from me and usually is my port of call when im stuck on the car ill give him a tx lol also someone else has done this wire tuck but cant remember his name his car was red on oz supperleggeras and running a hybrid?, im sure his pic was of his car on a dyno.

could you get me some pics of your bay m8 i know you have to re-wire the loom through the inner wings, have you cut and extended any wires to make it cleaner?

on a side note i have been flushing my bay and its murder took all the sealer off and i wont be doing it again haha and im a panel beater and do this for a living lol

only photo i have

cheers for that m8 could you get any of the whole bay for me, i have now got a flushed bay and removed all the pins that poke out so i cannot put the wires back in lol

only needs paint now and a tidy up of the masses of wiring lol,

anyone seen any cleaned 20vt engine bays? i want to tidy the engine up a bit while im there so may see a few ideas if anyone has any suggestions or seen anything online

hmm on mine while i had the engine out i pretty much done what you have done just cleaned and done a little smoothing. last year a trax there was a yello cupra that had a smoothed engine bay looked mental but i never had the time to do it :( i might have some pics ill check in a bit

i left the bracket on as ill be using it either for the oil catch can or the washer bottle not sure yet the bay isnt painted yet so could remove it if needed before paint,

that mark 1 bay is awesome im sure i have an old pvw here with it in so im going to dig it out and try and find out where he has hidden the mass of wires.
