:cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: Just went out to my car to find that during the night someone has scraped down the front drivers side wing round to the bumper!:wtf: creasing the wing and taking a 6'' patch of paint off the bumper! not details left.....just another scumbag. No point in claiming off insurance due to £500 excess and then loss of no claim bonus. Really could do without this after a financially crippling christmas....further more then being told by my girlfriend "you can hardly notice it!!!!".....*que anger and verble abuse*.......BTW its a black LCR

On a serious note hope its fixed soon and doesn't cost too much, it makes you wonder what we are buying car insurance for when we can't claim from it.

ITS SO INFURIATING TO HAVE DAMAGE AND YOU HAVE TO SHELL IT
i had to pay 520 for a respray to bonnet, roof and wing after a rock fell off a lorry on the motorway and wrecked my bonnet and roof panels

nightmare, no point claiming for same reasons as you!

Exactly what I was thinking, with a car of this ins group can't imagine ''Any'' claim regardless of fault will help you out with next years renewal!! plus only being 21 my 2 years NCB is everything!

Im looking a new wing and bumper respray anyone got any idea of how much this is goon cost??

Thats different though?
Someone hit needles car while he was away from it and drove off. If you were following a lorry and the load was unsecure then you had every right to stop the driver and get his details and start a claim, plus you were able to get his reg if he wouldn't stop.
 
That really sucks mate! Really sorry to hear. I'd feel like killing someone if that happened to me.

I'm gutted for you mate. I get pissed off everytime i find a new stone chip on my car so i know what you meant when you said you'd like to kill someone.
Has the Missus changed her mind on how visible it is?
 
Mate, really sorry. Happened to me in my old car as well on 3 separate occasions. Absolutely no excuses for not leaving their details- just selfish :censored:

I do know how you feel mate, and i think your misses probably felt like she had to say something, and came out with something that could have been better, but we've all done it.
Imagine you'r in the car with your misses when she reverses into your car while its parked on the drive..... happened to me and i went nuts. Luckily no damage at all, but it still upsets you. Your misses thinks she had it bad off you last night, she should call my misses and ask her how bad she got it!
Hope it gets sorted to a decent standard with a decent price tag mate.

This time last year on my Ibiza, i had someone do the same, I only seen it a few hours later.Mine though needed a new headlight and the wing needed re-shaped as well as new bumper. Total cost came to 800 quid and couldnt claim through insurance for same reason as you.

If yours just needs a respray to wing and bumper you are probably looking at around 250-300 at least from a good bodyshop. Hope you can get it cheaper though.
If you are like me, you will want to back to normal asap whatever the cost!

i know its different damage
but i meant i had the same nightmare of not really being viable to claim for the insurance! hence having to shell for it myself

and no there was noway of getting the lorries details anyway, with law being the way it is i cld of battled for months to prove they dropped it and still got nowhere
 
When i say it was different, i wasn't refering to the amount of damage, i meant that the damage was done in your presence so you saw who did it and was able to prove it. Also you would have been able to follow the vehicle responsible and inform the police that the vehicle was shedding it's load ( a very serious offence) and have them done fot it.

as i said, with the law being the way it is
it wld of been productive to poke myself in the eye
damage was around the same iirc, bonnet was wrecked
cost 500+ for respray-perfect job though
 
i am sure all insurance companies by law have to pay into a scheme for hit and run accidents like this. i will go and have a look for more info.
