Nah not really mike. Couldn't be assed standing around describing how I want it to look, sound, deliver power....just after 'tried and tested'

I'm reluctant having 2 seperate exhaust parts, would much prefer a full system by one brand, but would mean half a day at Pipewerx designing it.

The Cobra is the most straightforward bet but I've seen no dyno graphs of it doing its job. Plus some discolouration issues too. Just can't understand how it's £400 cheaper than its rivals.....

I wouldnt worry too much about mixing parts... I felt similar having BF dp and sports cat mated to a Miltek cat back but still going strong after 6 years.. At the time the price would have been double for the whole system to be Miltek.

Here's mine, not the best as it was done on my phone.

I have a miltek resonated cat back (1st version) and wanna go 3inch dp and spots cat next what do you all recommend

Miltek would be my choice. They're a pain to fit, so not cheap on labour. AmD do free fitting, no brainier IMO.

I'm thinking pipewerx DP, sports car and miltek cat back. I take it pipewerx do custom cat backs? Where are they based and what do they charge?

Slight change of plan. I'm binning the Piper idea...just couldn't live with the tale pipe.

It's looking like Cobra non res & non baffled cat back to Pipewerx DP and cat.

All 3" downpipes will perform the same, for example.
Any system running 3" downpipe decat , 2 3/4 cat back will do its job. Its free flowing and will perform very well. Just pick the exhaust you like the look of and sound good. The only real restrictions are the downpipe, cat and manifold.

Alrite mate yeh I forgot to post that I enquiried here and they said they have no real interest in the 1.8T anymore. Preferring to concentrate on the 2.0TFSI.

I explained to him now prices have dropped on the LCR1 he has a whole new market. He paused for a sec then said something about "we pride ourselves on our products. They will not be like everyone else's, ours will be the best you can buy". He also mentioned should they ever decide to do a new line it won't be for 6 months minimum.

Sam what is the price for the Relentless mani, 200 csports cat? I follow on FB but can't get on at work and my intanet is down at home.

I did want Miltek or Blueflame but have heard that the Miltek is rather quiet dont get me wrong I dont want it mega loud but wanna hear it. Heard Tom's Piper yesterday and it sounds the nuts the tailpipe is the only thing that worrying me. I need to see what a Blueflame system sounds like.

I have a Blueflame un baffled cat back system on my Curpa T (its the 6x4 LCR system, which they make for Cupra T and R)
Sounds beautiful, nice soft grumble, not mega loud but by no means quiet, and a few little pops as well as looking great.

however, be VERY VERY wary of blueflame. had an unbelievable arse on getting mine, they kept forgetting to send it, then they said it wasnt actually built, then they missed the courier again before a weekend, then the garage recieved £20k worth of focus rs exhausts and mine ended up in Hull, then when it DID arrive almost 2 WEEKS after it should have they hadnt put the fitting kit in!!

I have my debit card in my hand and I just can't choose.

Cobra full system (200cell, non-res, non,baffled) £745.00 not fitted

or

Pipe-werx full system (200cell, non-res, custom backbox/tail) £1000 fitted

I'm trying to look at this in a methodical way - the grade of steel used in these system by all these different companies is the same yes? 304 grade aircraft steel.

The cats are all the same? A 200 cell from miltek will be exactly the same as a cobra 200 cell cat?

Flanges are the same (within reason).

Which leaves me with the welding, that is the only part I can think of that has an affect of the final product price. But then even the cobra offers lifetime warranty - so if the welding is rubbish they will just replace the part -

Can anyone else shed light as to why there is £600 difference between a full cobra system and a full piper system?

I would have the Miltek but its not loud enough I dont want chav loud but I do wanna be able to hear it. Ive got a month or so to decide for definate so ill get my thinking cap on lol

I'm wondering if Cobra are trying to sell at a lower cost so people by there system so they can make a name for them selfs? It's good PR and cheap advertising. In the future when they have a trusted brand they can then increase there price as Blueflame did. Has anyone had any negative feed back form a Cobra system?

Thicker 304 S/S used maybe?

Cat possibly higher quality due to a different %age of precious metals used in the matrix. Not all cats are the same...

Flanges - again are they thicker, how have they been made, are they machined flat etc etc.

It's a very hard choice I agree. For me it's Pipewerx but £450 ish for cat back? Noooo.

Piper designed the exhaust through this site. ie sound, looks, performance and there WAS significant torque increases throughout the rev range. There were graphs on here but it seems they have all but vanished. I think when the head sales guy (the one that was on this forum- Gary?) left, all there customer service went with it.....

Just choose a system which "feels" good, there are a lot of LC(R) drivers which chose the Cobra system (at least so I've noticed not too long ago) and haven't heard/read a bad thing about them till today...
