Personally, I am not sold by any of the hype until I see facts and figures. I realise there are innovators, but surely there should be facts and figures to back up the super duper claims.

In my opinion at least, all there has been so far is an American VP talking about the maps on another forum a demo car people are enjoying ripping the arse out of and what appears to be select people getting free stuff in return for posting all kinds of good stuff about the company that gave it to them on the web, and downing the competition.

Of course I could be a synical old fart :clown:

If it was me, I would stick with what I have/know especially if I was happy with it - going to an unknown quantity is quite a risk - would REVO actually give you your map back if you did change?

Either way, I will watch this with interest :snack:

You have nothing to lose, you can always go back to your Revo agent in the unlikely event you wanted your old map back on.

Anyone remember another equivalent "S2+" map from two years ago? It made lots of high numbers including bhp, ft-lbs and timing pull in all cylinders - and ultimately, it was still slower.

Hold up Al what you are saying is completely untrue about APR doing favours in return for free publicity. People are doing it off their own back. I dunno why you are so against APR.

People shouldn't have loyalty for a tuner, because what I've learned over the years is that they have no loyalty to you, especially when things don't go right....

Don't take this the wrong way...BUT before you go switching Maps

Is your car running fine now or are you still experiencing fuelling problems and or boost problems? (caused by the car and not by the remap...)

When I spoke to you last you told me about your car losing power from the first few miles and in order to drive it again you had to reset the fuel trims each time!?

It will be interesting to see what APR can achieve with your car...

If APR resolves the problems your been experiencing then that good however I’m sure your running KMD internals and non APR inktake? They will remove your parts and fit their own APR mods to use as a test (if they were to choose your car for development for the stage3 K04 tune).

Also noticed you posted on the REVO sections aswell about re-flash software because the map settings incorrect? don't randomly copy settings.

(Rant, Over) - Wanted to get this out first - Doesn't seem fair on Revo (not sure why I bother but oh wells).

Care to elaborate further mate?

I think Sniper should go for it personally. Although would the fact he's running a K04 upgrade rather than a Cupra engine make any differences or give APR any wiggle room for a slower car? Just playing Devil's...

Great point Dave - no point trialling a new map on a car that isn't running properly, unless Sniper is trying to get a little free diagnostic work - which might go some way to proving that APR's customer service is helpful :p

I am not anti-APR bud. As mentioned several times, I think its great that competition has been introduced as competition breeds better products at better prices.

With that being said though, there has been a lot of hype about APR and absolutely no substance about the hype. That is the reason I have been playing devils advocate - some people may be brave enough to pay out for an unknown quantity which is exactly what APR code is right now (please prove me wrong with verified plots/logs/times etc), but why should they? If this new code is all that, why are there no cold hard facts? Sure, one lad in an APR Leon Cupra in South Africa claims to have attained 12.7 on the 1/4 mile using slicks but there is no evidence/timing slips to back that up. Also, there are no verified rolling road plots and no idependent VAGCOM logs.

In short, I hope the APR code it is everything it is being bummed up to be, but all there is to back it up right now is one person who has had a demo map, someone who swapped from a Jabba Map and an R20T demo car that people are happy to thrash about in.

I would be interested to see the Graphs too...The last APR related Graph was Mike's Cupra however there is a problem with it and its with APR at present I think...

But not found any more recently :( Only "quoted numbers" this and that...

There are graphs on the APR website but would like to see more.

When it comes to putting some power back into my car I will definatley be weighing up the pro's and con's of both APR and Revo.

You have got tohand it to APR, after pulling out distribution to their major UK supplier around 18 months ago they have gone and set up a proper UK headquarters - quite the turnaround. They have also shown keeness to work with UK based customers with the development of the TTRS Stage 3 package. What these two things say to me is that they are (finally) taking their UK customer base seriously.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing some results at GTI International.

100 pounds says you will end up with a APR map. ;)
