Had a go at this today.
Removed the wipers and weather strip and tried to get the rain tray out. Well, that seemed impossible as the thing is rooted behind the windscreen. Maybe it would come away with more force, but i feared the worst, so decided to take out the metal panel. First bolt was fine, second bolt when i came to look was already knarled up. I gave it one attempt and the bit just rounded the bolt more - so i needed to find another way.
Could just about see what i needed to get at...
Somehow using a very small flathead and my infamous index finger, i was able to release the clip and pull the connector off. It wasnt easy at all, and i have wounds from the pressure of the plastic strip on the back of my fingers, but its off.
Thanks to Rich for the guide, helped me locate the gizmo easily.

No not driven it yet. Spent the day cleaning it and waxing so might take it tomo.
Can defo hear a difference just running it in the back yard. Here are a couple of clips, inside the car first then outside. If you play it through headphones or speakers it sounds more noticable than mobile speaker. Here are the links on my dropbox so i hope it works, im doing this all on my mob. 20 secs each.
Remember my car is boggo standard (so far as i know not mapped) so im hoping to maybe hear a little more turbo action with it disconnected i want to relive my 180hp RS turbo rrrrip-cha days

You can definitely hear the turbo whistling with it disconnected once you start winding it up. Much quieter at motorway speeds as well which is good.

I just had a wild vision of making my soundaktorless test drive to Richard Arnold @ Peterlee for some APR S1 action, and then an even more pleasant engine soundtrack for the drive back - but then the price reality hit, plus it would probs aggravate what sounds like slight DMF clunking.
